US 280 and Wolfe Road Interchange Improvements, Cupertino, CA
PARIKH provided geotechnical services for modifications of I-280 and Wolfe Road interchange in Cupertino. Elements include overcrossing replacement, realigned and widened ramps, raising the Wolfe Road approach embankments, sound wall replacements with provisions for constructing new walls, and multimodal improvements.
PARIKH’s scope of work entailed services through multiple phases. Preliminary work included Phase 1 Initial Site Assessment (ISA) and design alternatives feasibility studies. During the PS&E phase PARIKH conducted field investigations, laboratory testing, and geotechnical design. PARIKH developed recommendations for the overcrossing replacement foundations using driven steel piles, cantilever and mechanically stabilized embankment (MSE) retaining walls, embankment settlement periods, and utilities protection at an existing box culvert along the project alignment.
