BART Warm Springs West Access Bridge & Plaza, Fremont, Alameda County, CA
The project provided an access bridge at the west side of the BART Warm Springs Station, from the BART concourse over the UPRR tracks. In addition, a stair/escalator and elevator were constructed at the plaza’s ground-level entrance. The bridge has an iconic architectural design, clearly marking the entrance to the BART station, with a truss structure and a cable-stayed structure spanning approximately 250 feet. The proposed deck level is approximately 32 feet above ground surface. Two column supports are founded on driven steel pipe piles, meeting the required foundation rigidity. The deck-level truss structure lands at the concourse level of BART Warm Springs Station. At the eastern support, pile splicing is required due to an existing PG&E transmission line. PARIKH provided construction support to City of Fremont staff during pile driving operations.
