Vasona Corridor Light Rail Transit Extension Project, Santa Clara County, CA

The overall Vasona Corridor Project was envisioned extending 6.9 miles from downtown San Jose through Campbell to Los Gatos with nine stations and four Park & Ride lots. PARIKH was the geotechnical engineer-of-record for the first 5.3-mile, from downtown San Jose to the Winchester Station in Campbell. The project consists of the following elements:

• Downtown segment at San Jose Diridon Station,
• A cut-and-cover tunnel structure at Caltrain/JPB,
• bridge structures at Montgomery Street, Los Gatos Creek, San Carlos Overhead, Meridian Avenue, Park Avenue,
• Tieback retaining walls at Route 87,
• Sound walls,
• MSE retaining walls at Los Gatos Creek.
• Platform stations,
• Park-N-Ride facilities,
• TES poles, and
• Trackways.
