14th Street Safe Route Project, Oakland, Alameda County, CA

The 14th Street Safety Project runs between Lakeside Drive and Castro Street in Oakland. The project is intended to improve bicyclist and pedestrian safety in the corridor, improve multimodal transportation connections, and improve transit reliability. Elements include sidewalk and pedestrian crossing expansions, protected bike lanes, and improved bus loading areas.

PARIKH provided geotechnical investigation services. Scope of work included field borings, laboratory testing, engineering analyses, and geotechnical design. Recommendations were provided for pavement sections with geotextile subgrade reinforcements to mitigate expansive subsoils.
