I-80/Powell Street Interchange Transit Access Improvements, Emeryville, Alameda County, CA

As part of the Bay Bridge Forward initiative, this project upgraded the I-80/Powell Street Interchange to improve traffic, pedestrian, and bicycle operations. PARIKH provided preliminary investigations for transit access improvements. Elements included a bus queue jump lane, relocation of existing bus stop, new bus stop, and two retaining walls for the roadway widening. Scope of work included preliminary reports summarizing known existing geotechnical conditions and probable design considerations. Preliminary recommendations were provided for retaining walls and areas for further investigation.
