Civic Center Off-Site Parking Garage, City of San Jose, CA

Civic Center Off-Site Parking Garage is a seven-story parking garage with two levels of basement.  The parking garage part of the new Civic Center development program for the City of San Jose.

PARIKH is the geotechnical engineer-of-record (EOR) for this parking garage.  The major design considerations included shoring and basement construction with adjacent property foundations, dewatering, utilities, groundwater conditions, and piling/underpinning of existing historic buildings.  The shoring system consisted of soldier pile wall with tiebacks.  The garage is supported on deep foundations.
